Student Choice National letter to Premier Ford and Minister Fullerton:

This is a historical moment for students and our organisations. This past couple of weeks, your CSA been working with a group of student leaders to put together a national letter addressing the recent OSAP cuts and Student Choice Initiative. It’s easy to think this is just an Ontario issue but it sets a national precedent - if it can happen here, it can happen anywhere.

Statement on Fords Freedom of Speech MANDATE

STATEMENT ON FORD’S FREEDOM OF SPEECH MANDATE

To Premier Doug Ford,

On behalf of the University of Guelph Central Student Association (CSA),

On September 26, 2018, our board passed a motion to condemn the Ontario government’s directive to create “free speech” policies on University and College campuses across Ontario. We oppose this mandate, and we view this as a challenge to our autonomy, and an initiative meant to interfere with students’ freedom of expression.

Bulletin: CSA Board of Directors' Statement on Photo Arts Club Space

Earlier this year, clubs were being consulted about a construction project occurring in the CSA Clubs Hallway. As part of the consultation process, clubs were informed that they could meet one-on-one with a CSA Executive to perform a needs assessment for their club to ensure that the new space was able to accommodate as much as possible. Photo Arts Club requested to have this needs assessment done. In this assessment, they were informed that their space would not be affected by the CSA Clubs Hallway renovations, but that there would be future renovations that would affect their space.
